چکیده
Boron compounds in the form of boric acid, borax or disodiumoctaborate tetrahydrate have been used as insecticide, fungicide and fire retardant wood preservatives industry for decades. Also, copper is most commonly component relatively modern it highly effective against fungi. The objective this study was to investigate combustion decay resistance boron-copper based solutions which were developed by our group. These contain sodium borate decahydrate, hydroxy carbonate, ethanolamine, quaternary ammonium compound (benzalkonium chloride), and/or organic acid (octanoic acid). Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) woods treated with according ASTM D1413-07 standard vacuum-pressure impregnation system, Decay performances white brown rot fungi determined EN 113 tests performed respect E160-50 standard. All impregnated samples found resistant both (Trametes versicolor L.) (Coniophora puteana Besides, they gave better results than control terms tests.

Surface Properties of Bamboo and Scots Pine Impregnated with Boron and Copper Based Wood Preservatives after Accelerated Weathering
In this study, we investigated the color, gloss and surface roughness of bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoides) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) samples impregnated with boron and copper based preservatives during accelerated weathering from 168 h to 672 h. Tanalith-E, ACQ, wolmanit-CB were used as copper-based chemicals, while a mixture of boric acid and borax (7:3; w/w) was used as the boron com...
متن کاملDecay Resistance of Bamboo Oriented Strand Board Pretreated with Copper-based Preservatives
To enhance the decay resistance of bamboo oriented strand board (OSB) products, the strands were dipped in solutions of alkaline copper quat (ACQ) and copper azole (CA) and bonded with phenol formaldehyde resin into two types of OSB panels, i.e., panels with 100% treated strands and those with treated strands only in the face layers. The results indicated that the decay resistance of treated pa...
متن کاملTolerance of Serpula lacrymans to copper-based wood preservatives
Serpula lacrymans, the dry rot fungus, is considered the most economically important wood decay fungus in certain temperate regions of the world, namely northern Europe, Japan, and Australia. Previously, copper-based wood preservatives were commonly used for pressure treatment of wood for building construction, but some decay fungi are known to be copper tolerant. In this study, soil-block test...
متن کاملOxalic acid overproduction by copper-tolerant brown-rot basidiomycetes on southern yellow pine treated with copper-based preservatives
Accumulation of oxalic acid (OA) by brown-rot fungi and precipitation of copper oxalate crystals in wood decayed by copper-tolerant decay fungi has implicated OA in the mechanism of copper tolerance. Understanding the role of OA in copper tolerance is important due to an increasing reliance on copper-based wood preservatives. In this study, four copper-tolerant brown-rot fungi were evaluated fo...
متن کاملDecay Resistance of Treated Wood with Functionalised Commercial Silicones
Three commercial silicone emulsions with different functional groups i.e., quat-silicone micro-emulsion (<40 nm particle size), amino-silicone macro-emulsion (110 nm), and silicone macro-emulsion with alkylmodified side groups (740 nm) were used to protect wood samples against fungal decay. The addition of the emulsions to an agar growth medium revealed that all three silicone formulations inhi...
